Meet Loretta Marston
Loretta inherited her love for travel from her Grandma Hanson who was an elementary school teacher here in the Pacific Northwest. For several summers Grandma Hanson would take Loretta and her brother on summer trips. One summer they took a month long trip that included stops at Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore, the Badlands, Kansas, Texas, Loretta got to be in four states at one time when she was at the four corners (where Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and New Mexico all meet), Carlsbad Caverns, and the Red Woods. Loretta used the scrap book from this trip to help plan a trip she took to Illinois when Kylie was 7 and the twins (Adam and Liz) were 5.
Here are a few of Loretta’s wish list destinations: Niagara Falls, Washington D.C., South Carolina, a Caribbean Cruise, Australia, Alaska, Mexico, the Greek Isles, and many locations here in the Pacific Northwest.
Loretta has enjoyed her opportunities to live in: San Francisco area, San Diego, Texas, Oklahoma, Oregon, Illinois, and Washington State. Loretta planned to move to Hawaii, but those planned were adjusted because a few weeks prior to her departure Loretta met her husband.
Loretta first put to practice the art of efficiency starting around the age of 12. One of the first things you learn when you are from a large blended family, 3 step brothers, a step sister, a biological brother and adopted sisters (twins) is how to efficiently share one bathroom.
Loretta has had a varied list of employment opportunities. Her childhood employment began with cleaning rooms at the church school she attended to help pay for her education. Loretta has also picked strawberries, moved irrigation line, and worked at a bank while in the Office Education Program at Bridgeport High School. After high school Loretta worked as counter help for a parts store, receptionist, bookkeeper for a garbage company, was a professor’s assistant (where she taught beginning accounting classes), bookkeeper for several different companies, and an assistant accountant.
Over the years Loretta has been involved in numerous direct sales organizations: Mary Kay, Amway, The Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, and Premier Design Jewelry.
Loretta met her husband about a year after she graduated from college. Joe was stationed at Mare Island Navel station which is near San Francisco. Joe and Loretta enjoyed traveling around the Bay area and Napa Valley on Joe’s motorcycle. Joe currently is a Reactor Operator at Energy Northwest.
